Should anyone use the Halfords web site to find the correct oil for the 1.6 HDi engined Berlingo please be aware that it does not bring up the correct spec oil.
This engine require an oil that matches the PSA B71 2290 spec.

The recommended oil from Citroen is Total Quartz ineo ecs 5w30. Any equivalent spec will be much the same price so might as well go with the Total. Looking on Halfords website their oil finder thingy ain't working but the only suitable oil for 1.6hdi they list is Mobil1 ESP 5w30. They list several Castrol oils but not the correct Magnatec 5W-30 C2.

The Total oil is difficult to get hold of easily and so alternatives are required.
The Mobil oil is quite a lot dearer but sometimes needs must

If you go on the websites of any major oil companies they have oil finders using car reg, the oils that come up are the 5w30 fully synth low saps. I don't know if any of the cheaper brands are as good. Comma for example lists Pro-Tech 5W-30 as correct spec which would probably be cheaper.

I've just clicked on that link, Ol' Jeffers, and was surprised to see that after the Halfords own brand 5W30, the second oil is Castrol Magnatec 10W40.
Surely that is a mistake - and a serious one at that?
