2001 600D - Draining the coolant
#1
Hi guys, I need to replace the coolant and was wondering how to drain the radiator? I can't see any drain plugs and the only bottom hose on the rad is inaccessible without taking the rad off :/

I've got a Haynes manual and that suggests removing the cylinder
block drain plug
so if anyone can point me to a pic of that I'll be so grateful.

Thanks,
Lou

Hi Lou.
Remove bottom hose and drain coolant.
But, be very careful!

I have had a look at my 2004 model and there is no drain point.

The bottom hose is the only way to drop it out.

Hi, Just done it on an 02 1.4 Multispace. I found it easier by taking the plastic wheel arch liner out. Not sure if yours is the same. The bottom hose goes behind it at first. It will certainly help to get the hose back in. I also unbolted and moved the washer bottle. I did need to use a header tank, as suggested in the Haynes manual, to refill.

Thanks guys.

I want to flush the whole coolant through the engine as well.. by taking off the lower pipe from the radiator how will I get the clean water going through? Or should I just drain, fill, drain, fill with coolant?
