A cheep biodegradable oil soaker upper !
#1
When I was living in Canada we had to complete a government course for safely handling chemicals. During this course we were told that PEAT-MOSS
will absorb spilled oil. Because of its make up,petroleum based. Apparently under magnification it looks like tubes which is where it absorbs and retains the oil. Best part is it is safe to bin it.
Try it!! We used bags of it when we moved our Printing Machines. Lots of oil under them when they were removed. It soaked up the oil and we shoveled up the remaining soaked peat and binned it. worked great soaked in overnight.Just thought I would share this little snippet of info with you all.I use it any time I spill or knock over oil.

Cat litter granules (unused) also work well for spills

I find the cat litter with Fullers Earth works well to soak oil up and if you want to get the stain out of concrete use biological washing liquid scrubbed in neat then left a while and rinsed off.
So where does this bit go then ?

I use cat litter as well, the clay type rather than the paper sort. Works a treat.
