All sorts of funny stuff

Now then.

Having bought a 2004 Bingovan with a knackered engine (snapped cam) but a spare 1.9d in the back.  BONUS! Smile

Long story short:

Very little info from previous owner, I fitted the replacement engine with a new clutch.  Problems starting firstly until I could get a replacement fuel pump solenoid to do the trick, so it runs!

Drives very nicely indeed actually, and there has been money spent on it with new brakes, new gear linkages and some other bits & bobs.

So last Saturday i came to start it.  Lights on all the time, couldn't turn them off.  No indicators. Horn working, hazards working, no radio.

Anyway, fitted replacement fusebox.  Everything works!

Came to it on Monday, airbag light on, brake warning light on, STOP keeps flashing on the dashboard.  Radio beeps every 3 seconds, speedo doesn't work Sad Everything else electrical works.

All fluids are to level, no leaks as far as I can see, only the engine was replaced not the ECU.  I have a feeling the floppy stalks/squib ring may be to blame for the airbag light.  I've had the drivers seat ot to clean the covers, refitted it, sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not.

Where do I start?

I'd like to burn it but I have a soft spot for Bingovans.  I worked for Citroen when they were introduced and ran a pre production 1.8d for a few months whilst there Smile

You can search the forum. I have seen at least 3 posts with the same
questions.

The airbag light is probably the connector under the seat not connecting properly. Well known for this fault especially after removing drivers seat.

I thought this might involve trawling.... Smile

I suppose this is a direct result of trying to address the problems of French electrics!

Cheers chaps

Is the indicator/wiper stalk alright ? When the electrics go loopy it sounds like BSI or com 2000 problems usually.
So where does this bit go then ?

You can get a little part on ebay to repair the floppy coms unit stalk - you have to remove and strip the coms unit down but its not hard, ive done a couple of them and for £7 part you can yourself some serious money.
