Arduino oscilloscope for automotive sensor diagnostic
#1
It is finally here. It took me almost 3 months to learn, arduino, processing... (never programmed anything...)
Another 3 months to compare data with real oscilloscope...

Please check out : http://www.instructables.com/id/OFFscope...card-fast/

If you have any questions... I'm here....

Best regards,

Wow, many, many thanks brajomobil for posting this. I had been waiting for this since you mentioned a while back that you'd be working on this project.

Interesting.
This is a single-channel 'scope, though?
It might be better to get 2 channels, even if it means dropping the sample-rate quite a bit.

You can log all arduino analog pins. (6 channels) .But sampling rate drops quite a bit
It is not a problem for slow sensors. e.g. ABS . For fast signal arduino UNO is capable
only for one channel. I am running some tests with arduino DUE and probably will manage
to get usable oFFscope dual channel. Just need to find time...

I wish I could understand the practical side of electronics like you guys.I retired just as the electronic era took over.

Ron; it's never too late to start...

I recommend the Parallax WAM (What's A Microcontroller) kit and book as a good intorduction.
The book can be downloaded on their site, so no need to spend cash, yet.
https://www.parallax.com/product/28152
And if anything is unclear, they have the best forum around.

Note, their Basic Stamp II that is used in the book may be a mite expensive, compared to an Arduino, which is true. And that is really why those pesky Italians made the first Arduinos, too.
(Both operate on 5V, though, so a circuit design used in the book can easily be adapted for the Arduino)

I think RS-components have most Parallax products in their inventory.
