Berlingo 2.0 HDI egr removal
#1
Hello all

I have found various threads on this topic, however none of them have any specifics when it comes to actually doing it :/ its all pro's and con's. A newbie to tuning diesels like myself Smile could do with a step by step dummies guide to egr removal if anybody can help please? im far from a mechanic but I like to get stuck in and do jobs myself to learn, rather than just ringing the mates and calling in favours .. has anybody done it that can offer some good solid info that will help me along please?

Cheers

to the back left corner of the engine there is the egr valve with a rubber vacuum pipe coming out of it if you pull the vacuum pipe off and put a golf tee or something similar to stop the vacuum leaking then that's your egr off

brill .. I have also purchased a blanking plate off ebay .. is this to put in place after removing the actual unit? to my understanding it is. Sorry don't want to sound like a complete novice I just like to be clear on what im doing before I start .. also by the sounds of it I will be finding a lot of carbon build up upon removal in the pipe its attached too. To prevent this all falling into the air intake whats the best way to tackle getting rid of the carbon? thanks.
