on a petrol engine the oil on the spark plug's is the the petrol gas or gas's going up the the thread of the spark plug on to the plug it self if loose or not a proper seal ?

It's possible I have managed to coat it in unburnt fuel when I was having problems with it misfiring on LPG, before I sorted out the injector fault.
I'll find out for sure when I take the plug out again in the near future.

Had another look at the plug that was fouled again today and no oil on it or in the plug well.
There was however a little oil seeping from the rocker cover, so it looks quite possible this has found it's way into the well and it's soaked the plug when I then removed it.
The plug was dry with just a bit of dry black carbon on the thread.
