Brake lights on all the time
#1
Hi I have 2011 B9 engine 1.6 Diesel engine code 9HT  my brake lights are on all the time. I have changed the switch made no difference and I have reset the BSI unit witch made no differance. My snap on dignostic computer is showing two brake light switches on current data and only the main one is working ok. But I can only find one brake light switch under glove box on passenger side any help would be great  Huh

Have you changed a bulb recently?

Mine were stuck on when the wrong brake bulb was used and it caused a short so they were permanently on.

It will have four pins in the brake light switch, one side for abs/ESP and one for lights from memory, if brake lights are stuck on it may be worth getting a set of wiring diagrams for 6 quid off service box and seeing where wiring goes... But first do the lights go out if you unplug the brake light switch? Check the bulbs, but normally if a wrong bulbs been fitted the dash will light up when brakes are pressed and the high level brake light will light when the side lights are put on...
