Buzzing sound when I park up.
#1
Hi all, can you help? I have noticed just these last couple of days when I park up i get a buzzing sound (like a coil of a faulty relay) which last's up to around a minute then goes off. I had a quick look and it seems as though it is coming from on top of the head somewhere although i could be wrong.

If its humming like a motor it is the fan. If engine temp is high, ie driving slow or sitting in traffic, electric fan will run for up to minute after switching off.

Def not the fan. I am a Engineer and know the sound very well. Will try and source it. Thanks for the help so far.

If you stick you head in the engine bay, does it appear to be coming from the rear left (drivers side) of the engine bay?

If it is, I've got the same, but I can't remember what it was

Seems like it is coming from that area, would be good to know if you do remember. Is it a fault or something that is supposed to happen?

it's meant to happen, it's just various things doing there job, which you wouldn't hear with the engine running
