COOLANT
#1
Hi,
As this is my first Citroen and was serviced before I got it 9600 miles to next service, I was concerned that the coolant was clear. I am used to pink water or perhaps on a previous car blue but in the Berlingo it was clear. I did take a small sample and put it in the freezer with a similar sample of tap water and the coolant did NOT freeze. Is clear coolant normal for a Citroen?

Normal coolant for modern (>2005) Citroens is BASF Glyssantin G33.
Before 2005 PSA used Revcogel 2000.

If it didn't freeze it must have coolant in there and putting it in the freezer is a harsher test than even our worst British winter.

Why British winter is worst?

No, PK, I am saying that a fridge freezer is far colder than anything the British winter can throw at you. So, if it survives the freezer, it will have no problem surviving our english weather.

The coolant in mine is grey so would look clear in small quantities.
