Cigarette sockets
#1
I have a 2003 berlingo van which has one 12v socket in the console. This was full of crud and didn't work when i picked it up and so i have bought a replacement but obviously the original one has a citroen type plug on it and i want to know if it is just a matter of cutting plug off and rplacing with spade connectors ? I would also like to fit a 2nd socket in the provided space are the connections already there ? Hopefully i have attached a picture of the two sets of cables i have available if anyone can identify them for me. Cheers, Stuart.

Here you are fella, the plug with the 3 connections (cig lighter) are,
Blue = illumination.
Grey = Positive supply.
Grn/Yellow = earth.
The other connector is for the optional power socket -
Pink = Positive.
Grn/Yellow = earth.

Hi Rustscrat, You are a star !! Thanks for that. If my new socket doesn't have illumination do i just secure the spare blue cable / taped up ? It's great to have somewhere to come for some help. Thanks again. Stuart.

Just leave it in the original connector if it's not being used and it'll be fine.:thumbsup:

It's a lighter type socket with a plastic flip lid in either beige, grey or black.

You ream a 25mm hole in the console and it clips in place.

You can hop a fuse across usually, to make it live.
