My van had company stickers on, now removed.
Was left with a slight "imprint" where lettering was.
Only visible in certain light, but I knew it was there.
Tried to T-Cut out, but made it worse.
Now has tiny swirlling scratch marks and paint is dull.
This is just on one side, the rest is fine.
Any suggestions, without spending a fortune?

Give your van a clean with 2 buckets (one with shampoo and another to rinse) then use a clay bar to get rid of all the left of dirt this might be why you had swirl marks after you polished it before. Then once its clayed either hand polish or use a cheapo polisher with some Auto glym super resin polish, this should bring it back to new

Hope this helps

I've read about using clay bar but how exactly is it used and does it really fetch the proverbial off a blanket???

compound is really what ye need as well and either hand buff or machine buff it in, that will remove the imprint, autosmart r2 might do it, r3 is a bit rougher but will also do

Cheers Brad.
The bonnet has a dull finish, too. Not scratched, just dull.
Will clay work on this as well?
Think my bottle of T-Cut is about 25 years old. Don't think that helped. illyme:

Cutting compounds do deteriorate with age. I have two bottles of Farecla which have definitely 'gone off' with age.
The stuff has visibly separated and is no good any more.
