I would have to agree with you although I have (touch wood) never had to use it on the road. Bad enough in the garage.

Its not good, but it does the job. I wear thick work gloves when swapping my wheels around.

I can't understand why they have that daft vertical piece in the sill to put the jack into.
Its very difficult to use a trolley jack under it at home.

This is what you want when using a trolley jack. Available on eBay.

A jack pad, in recent times they have come down to sensible prices when you are buying them in one-offs. Plenty on ebay.

just think they designed the van for a decent jack and then just grabbed some cheap sheet one...

Cheers for posting that. I've ordered one. Searched ebay for 'jack pad'. I swap my wheels round every couple of months & I've never used my trolley jack because of damage danger, now I can.

Thanks gents,

Well, you live , you learn.... must admit it is a new one on me. Always used a bit of wood between trolley jack and metal but never on sills before.

Can I ask what size slot and O/D of pad do I need to order and yes plenty on e-bay for around a fiver. can't afford not to have one at that price...
