DPF Removal & Remap.
Does anyone have either positive or (in many ways more important) negative experience they can share of doing this modification.
Thinking about it for a 1.6 90BHP unit in an '09 XTR
Thanks in anticipation

Only negative....If its removal is spotted by the MoT tester it may fail a future MoT.
If it's removal is spotted by an insurance assessor, in the event of an accident,
it will almost certainly render the insurance policy null and void. (Unauthorised
modification.) They will then have the vehicle checked for a performance enhancing re-map.

I personally would highly recommend it, if the dpf core is removed, then no one is ever going to spot it, and when the ecu is remapped there is an option to lock the changes so no one can check the map, or steal it.
No MOT tester is going to know if the internals are missing from your DPF.

I have a decatted car (not the Berlingo) - it theoretically has better economy, but it's so much more "blatty" that I waste as much fuel as when its cat was 2/3 blocked, having extra fun. The penalty here for an illegal decat is up to $10K in fine.

Yes, I think it is only the 110bhp diesel which in the UK has only ever been fitted in XTR that has had a dpf since Mk3 introduction. The others all got dpf from about 2011 onwards. Presumably this was when the redesigned engine was introduced & the 110 upped to 115bhp?
