Berlingo multispace suitable for dogs?
#11
Hi Christine,
we bought out Bingo from new purely for our dogs! I wanted an estate car, but couldn't argue with price, space, etc of our Bingo. While we have had our fair share of minor problems, the engine/transmission are going great after 110k miles.

We also paid extra for aircon and the modutop (extra glass panels in roof. Became standard later I think). The 300 quid for the aircon was the best money I have ever spent. Very useful for demisting windows when you have 2 wet humans and 4 even wetter dogs in the car.

When our 12 year old lab was alive, we made up a ramp. Must have been 5 foot long. We have one of those bike rack attachments on the tow bar. We got a friend to make up a metal bracket that fitted into the rack bracket. The ramp then laid on the metal. The ramp was the longest length that would fit in the footwell of the back seats. So gradient wasn't too bad.

Have you looked at web sites related to dogs? Our mutts do agility, and there are agility related sites. You see plenty of berlingos at competitions.

The other thing - which would probably require advice to an insurer - would be a mount for the ramp installed on the rear bumper face; the dog should be able to step the last three or four inches in height. This would appreciably reduce the ramp angle, though.
