[Engine] 03 1.9D WJY won't start

Evening all.
First post and I'm asking for help... Always the way.
Wife's berlingo chewed up its cambelt a few weeks back.  I managed to source a s/hand engine with 72k on the clock complete with all ancillaries for a good price.
I've spent a good few hours in the garage over the past few days. New clutch, new cambelt etc just to be safe. Old engine out and new one in....
But...  it won't fire up. Turns over fine, I've bled the pump repeatedly and there is no air. I've replaced and checked the glowplug system and its fine.  I cracked off no1 injector and no fuel.. Nadda. Checked no 4 and the same... 
So I have fuel at the pump but not at the injector... So I'm thinking stop solenoid.. So I checked for power at the connector.. 1 wire seems to be permenant live, one goes live with the ignition and then other appears to be earth.. Which from my readings on google sounds correct.
So I then checked the resistance across the solenoid and its about 5 between the two neighbouring pins.. Normal??
I do have the known good pump from the old engine but before I have to take the pump off and redo the belt/timing etc can anyone suggest anything else to check...
Oh.. The engine was a good runner before it came out of the donor car..

i think there is something about the immobiliser ; the ecu will work with the old pump only. Think it was suggested that the immobiliser from the top of the old pump can be swapped over .

I'm not sure about that though

Try a search for immobiliser in the forum .

so what you are saying is bypass the pump ecu an wiring directly to the stop solenoid well if thats the case 2 live to battery and 1 ground or negative isn't to hard to test.
can it also be that the solenoid is sticking and getting all it needs but is stuck  from standing ?

I'm going to swap the pump from the old engine... saves mucking about with wiring etc and will also eliminate the stop solenoid...

Just to close the thread.. I changed the pump for the one from the original engine. It now fires up but runs badly so now chasing other faults.... Cheers Jim
