[Engine] REMAP SURGE ON ACCELERATION
#1
Had my 2010 1.6 HDi 90 remapped to 115BHP and initially thought it was great.  However, I've noticed a series of "pulses" as it accelerates between 2-3k rpm. Once past that its seems to settle down much smoother. It almost feels like the engine is either starved of fuel or flooded by the stuff.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? Tried the usual google searches but to no avail....
Cheers

I would be taking it back to who ever remapped it and getting them to sort it out, it probably needs to be put on a rolling road and watch the read out to see exactly what is going on.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Hi peteh80

Please keep us posted on how this turns out, I I'm interested in having this done but obviously want to avoid any pitfalls.
115 bhp sounds great, I hope you get it sorted .
Good luck

I believe most remap firms keep a copy of your original UN modded map, so if all else fails you could get it put back to standard.
Have you searched for surging on the forum in case it's unrelated to the remap ?

Yeah I'm taking it back sometime tomorrow for them to have a look at but they got the map from somewhere else. They do still have my standard map there so it's always an option.
Was thinking it might be a filter or DPF needs cleaning out, but it's only just been serviced 500 miles ago before the map and all filters were changed then. Plus it's only done 50k.....

Had the guy look at it yesterday and it's booked in for next Wednesday for him to look at it. Says it needs monitoring while it's driving etc. he did notice a bit of hesitation on the test drive so fingers crossed it's a simple fix.....
