[Engine] Replacement engine 1.6hdi
#1
Hi everyone im new member and want some help, iv bought a peugeot partner on a 56 plate 1.6 hdi, the bottom end has gone and was wondering if an engine from a 2008 partner would fit and would I have any problems like coding and fuel pumps etc. I do have another engine in bits but would rather just buy a running engine.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Finding a trustworthy one is the thing.
They're very finicky about oil quality and cleanliness so if your chosen one has been neglected you could be getting a lot more than you bargained for.
IMHO if the rest of your existing one is ok I would look into fixing that rather than risking similar money on an unknown.

Sorry if I sound a bit thick but how will I be able to tell if rest of my engine is any good?

I was assuming you had had the motor some time
Dou you know if it smokes rattles etc or if it has had turbo failure or emmisions problems at MOT time

Bought it as a non runner so cant answer any of the above sorry looking at just replacing it or rebuilding it

If the bottom end has gone, this is usually down to lack of oil. With how fickle these engines and turbos are when it comes to oil, taking into account the probable reasons behind bottom end failure, I'd say replacement engine (if it comes with ancillaries like turbo) is the best option.
Somedays you're the pigeon, Somedays you're the statue.
