You can be absolutely certain that, on average, a Berlingo must cost a lot less than £229 to fix in its fourth year, as they wouldn't do it if they lost money. From this £229 across all warranties, they pay for all the repairs needed, running offices, salaries, company cars and the boss's big fat bonus, plus profits for the shareholders.
So on average, everyone who takes out one of these warranties must lose out.
On the other hand, if an unexpected repair bill could cause serious financial problems then perhaps paying for it could be worth it, just for the lack of worry.
From what I've seen, Berlingos don't generally break down though, as long as they're serviced properly. And servicing will be a requirement of the warranty anyway.
My thinking was IF the turbo decided to go, I would be up that famous creek paddle less.

It depends on how much you worry about risk, and whether you have the cash or credit card to cope if you have really bad luck and do need to pay for an expensive repair.
From what I've seen on this forum, Berlingos seem to be incredibly reliable on the whole. It makes sense, given their delivery van heritage - I'm sure Royal Mail wouldn't have a fleet of them if they kept breaking down all the time.

Royal Mail had a lot of the first models, (possibly Peugeots because Peugeot had a factory in Britain, they took over the Roootes group?) , I used to repair them, mostly damaged by rough roads and bad driving . I think I recently saw some Peugeot versions in royal mail livery
