FULL OF OIL BUT LEVEL INDICATOR SHOWS EMPTY
#1
Can anyone help ?

I have a 2006 Citroen Berlingo with the 1.6 HDI engine. I have owned this a couple of years and only do about 3000 miles a year. Today I changed the engine oil and checked where the oil filter was situated but didn't change the filter.

Since then the oil level on the dipstick shows full and oil warning light goes out but the oil level indicator flashes and shows empty.

I would be very grateful for any advice. Thank you. Demto

How often do you change the oil?

Ideally you should change the filter every oil change.

Have a search on the site for information on turbo failure and oil. Changing the oil/filter in the correct manner and using the right grade is essential.

This happened immediately after changing the oil and before the engine was restarted.

I don't know whats causing your problem but I agree with the other comments about changing the filter.

The op has another thread running on this where he has solved it.

Well it solved itself and started showing full again, probably a bit of crap on the sensor
