Just made a few enquires and there are 2 types of 20DP48 Gearbox, and one will fit and one wont and you don't know which is which until you try to fit it as bell housing is bigger on one of them......surely there is some other way to tell..........
That's odd.. 2 different gearbox with the same code? I don't buy it....
You can use any BE4L/R gearbox on your engine. They all fit, no matter the gearbox code, as soon they use hydraulic clutch... The difference will be gear ratio and final drive only...
They are now asking me if the Gearbox is Rod or Cable operated? any ideas please

Someone is not listening to you, whether they are breaker or dealer.
A DP48 should be exactly the same from issue 1 to the last unit produced. The potential supplier is working off first principles; either they cannot search the system properly or they are an accredited pillock (Ricardo - babaca
, would you say?).
The crux of my gearbox's code is CD74, as seen here. I know that should it go "crunch" in a big way, this is the ID code needed for a perfect match of all ratios.
