G'day from Oz
#1
Joined forum for help with a 2002 build (Mk 1?) multi-purpose 1.4l right-hand drive, manual petrol Berlingo. This was imported in Australia by a local company which converts these type of vehicles to be wheelchair accessible. Called Freewheeler. Conversion includes air rear suspension and lowered floor to increase height to allow wheelchair and occupant to be carried. Air suspension enables vehicle to be lowered at rear to give shallower angle for wheelchair access up a ramp.
There is very little support for Citroen in Australia and these vehicles are a special import as regular dealership imports did not have many options such as central locking. Repair parts are almost impossible - for example a power window regulator mechanism is quoted as A$500 ex France with delivery 2 -3 weeks. Bought a Haynes? manual but not a lot of detail in many areas.
Your forum is a great idea. I had a bit of trouble registering(confirmation of status) and can't see how to edit my profile but look forward to future posts

Hi, Welcome!! G'Day mate!
Your profile can be edited if you scroll to the top of the page
and right under the Berlingo Forum header there's a line containing
'User CP' in bold. Click on that and it'll take you to your profile.
Then in the left hand side menu bar you'll see 'Edit profile' and various
aspects that may be altered. HTH

Hello Cliff,
Nice to hear from another of our antipodean friends, I hope its not too hot out there at the moment, they said up to 46 degrees on our news channel.
sorry to hear about your lack of dealers but I found you can find most of what you need to know here. looking forward to some post from very far away!

It is scorching hot today in Sydney. Nine months ago, one of my car sheds was within two feet of inundation, now another property is five miles from a barely-contained fire.

Hello! When we were out there earlier in the year, we saw less than half a dozen Citroens. No dealers probably explains it. But we did see a fair few Peugots, including several Partners. They're the same car. Do you have any Pug specialists around you? The Mk1 and II are mechanically similar to the ZX and Pug 306, but I don't know what parts are completely interchangable.
Good luck, and hope the fires don't get you. We saw plenty of evidence of Black Wednesday (Couple of years back?) to the north-east of Melbourne, and had a very grey day in Lorne when they did a controlled burn. So glad we get constant rain. Or maybe not. Smile
