Just don't let mercuric chloride anywhere near it.
Point taken! It does have a smiling friendly face, and one of them has been part of a Tin Tin cartoon story.
It's a rare car in Denmark, but you have a Panhard club in the UK!
This one was the Panhard importers show car, my father worked as a mechanic for him, and bought it in 1961 when it was 6 years old. I was 6 years old too, and in 1999 my father gave it to me. There was only 5 of them imported, and today only 2 survives.
At the moment the Berlingo is far more interesting for me, as I've only just bought it, and think it's a wonderfull car. Strange about Citroen in Denmark, it is considered a poorly made car that breaks down all the time, but mostly by people who have never driven one. I recently had a Xantia for nearly 5 years, and evereyone told me not to bye it, because it would be nothing but trouble. Fact is, it was the best car I've ever had, 5 years of trouble free driving. I hope and expect the same from my Berlingo.

Great to see an old Panhard again, thanks for posting the pictures. Does it have the flat twin air cooled engine, 850cc??:drool:
I knew a couple of chaps who were restoring a Panhard in South Wales years ago. Now that I have returned I'll try to track them down & get some photos, but don't hold your breath!
http://www.panhardclub.co.uk if anyone is interested, after all it is part of the Citroen history.

Yes, it's the 850 cc engine, the original one was 851cc, but was later altered to 848cc, and they are all interchangeable. My car has an engine from a PL17 from 1963, with 42 hp, but I have all new parts for a new engine, this time 60 hp, so it will be more fun to drive.
It would be great if you could post some pictures of the restored Panhard!
My Berlingo is running perfectly, I changed the clutch when I got it, and have now done 10.000 trouble-free km's! Great car!

Thanks for that! The last I saw of that Panhard was about 20 years ago but I still know one of the guys involved and have got in touch with him. When the rain eases off I am going to make a visit and see if I can find out what happened to the vehicle in question. As I remember it was a pale blue PL17.
Will let you know if I find anything, or nothing....
This could turn into a sub-forum here, Panhard Corner??

Just updating from my last post, I have just been informed that the South Wales restoration Panhard I mentioned was sold about 12 years ago, and sadly I am unable to pass on any pictures to you in Denmark (or here in UK).
Here's a pic of another from the Panhard UK club site, plenty more out there...
