Hi with a small query
#1
Hi, to all: I'm not yet an owner, but hope to be.

I had a test drive in a 2009 Berlingo XTR yesterday. I'm looking at a new one, but the dealer hasn't got a demonstrator and this 2nd hand example was all I could try.

I was generally impressed by the car, including the performance, particularly as this was a '90' and I'm looking at a '110'. However, what spoilt it was the apparent lack of legroom for the driver. I couldn't extend or straighten my legs, despite having the seat in its rearmost position. I'm 6' 5" and was disappointed that the space everywhere else seemed to be achieved by reducing the driver's legroom. It's a showstopper for me, as I do 4 hr motorway runs at least twice a week.

I've never had this problem before in a car. Anyone care to comment?

Phil

Dealers will have sold on as much old stock as poss due to the 2012 facelift

This years most powerful XTR has a tweaked 115HP
Makes the 90 (no slouch really) feel almost sedentary

Did you try the seat Height adjustment as well? My 6'5" son initially thought our new car was a bit tight but sorted it all out with a combination of seat height, seat travel and steering wheel adjustment. It was pretty much OK for me (at 6 foot) before but must admit theres noticably more room around the drivers seat now. Before I had issues with the size of the casing around the gearstick but now it isnt a problem.

Heres a pic of our 2012 XTR by Thirlmere yesterday. (No the big ones not there!)

But would you catch two XTRs together up there?

On a bank holiday the Lakes can be as busy as Blackpool in some areas but can still be deserted in others. Yesterday we could have had a football match on this road.

For anyone interested, help may well be at hand: apparently a specialist firm in Dereham, Norfolk can modify the driver's seat mounting to add an additional 4" legroom.

I'm investigating....
