KNOCKING/VIBRATION NOISE COMING FROM NSF
#1
Hi folks i have recently replaced near side front spring after it had snapped then there was a knocking noise, so i changed the drop link hoping this would cure it as there was a tiny bit of play in it but it is still doing it.

it is a strange one as it doesnt do it all the time and tends to do it mainly over small bumps which are frequent then sometimes it will send a vibration through the car as if it is rattling against a body panel or the bulk head. i have had a look and cant physically see anything and i thought it might have been the wheel arch liner as there is a clip missing but i have replaced it now and the fault still persists, so if any one could shed some light for me it would be greatly appreciated as i hate annoying noises

i feel like hitting my :brickwall:

check if the strut is seated at the bottom properly.otherwise the top of the spring hits the inner wing.you will see where it rubbs the underseal off if this is the case.

hi.is the lug on the bottom of the strut seated between the clamp on the bottom.it stops the leg spinning when the wheel is turned.there are two more thicker ones just above it.hope this helps

Worth checking the track rod end and balljoint too IMO. Jack the car up and see if theres any play in the wheel Smile
