Does anyone know if the drivers seat position can be improved. I am 6'4" and the legroom is appalling. Long Journeys are painful. This is the only problem with the most practical car I have ever owned but it may have to go if I can't increase the legroom!
I thought it was awful at first too. I'm 6'2" but proportionally quite leggy.
Try playing a few games with the seat. Obviously get the steering wheel right out towards you. The height's worth a try - I started off with it low, but now have it higher. I'm really not sure what's best - it seemed obvious at first that higher would be better but now I'm not sure - it may be the opposite.
Obviously slide the seat back, so you may need to get the back more upright to reach the steering wheel.
I guess the reality is that with something designed mainly for carrying loads, the driving position will be compromised. Is yours a van, and do you have a bulkhead? I know some have bent them or chopped chunks out of it.
I'd agree that the driving position's not ideal for tall drivers but I manage with mine. Although mine's an auto so I don't have to stomp on a clutch, so the leg position is less important. I do sometimes wonder what to do with my left leg - it's either folded, or I attempt to straighten it, but there isn't much space alongside the huge brake pedal.
So yes - I agree that it's a problem but, for an auto gearbox at least, it's bearable.
I pulled my seat out and re drilled the bolts on the tracks, and set them back 2 inches further. perfect position now
