Red line
#1
I haven't seen anything on what the red line is for a 2010 HDi 110. There is nothing on the tachometer to indicate it. I haven't been over 3500 yet and that with it well warmed up. Anyone have an idea of what is safe??

Anything is essentially safe!... That is to say all modern vehicles will have systems in place so you can't destroy the engine by Over revving the thing (thats just the point! you can't over rev' the engine in any gear)

If you are running the engine in, which i believe is still very advisable on a modern machine, then keep below 3K revs for the first 1,000 miles or so and maybe let the engine tick-over for 30 secs prior to switching off, just to let the turbo bearings cool down (this is recommended all the time on any turbocharged car!...but seldom do people do it!)

Otherwise, just change oil & filters regularly and the car could outlive you Wink

Thanks for the info. I've got 3000 km on the clock so far. Will let the turbo bearings cool down as well.
