No I don't mean round and round
but from LF to RR, RF to LR, etc. and do you stick the spare in the rotation sequence so you don't end up with four worn and an unused one collecting road grime. Just thinking of spring when I pull the winter tyres off and mount the summers. Only have four winter wheels but five summers if you include the spare. Cheers

The advantage is even tread wear.
The disadvantage is buying 5 tyres at the same time.
Is usually put 2 new ones on the front and when the rears need changing put the recent fronts on the back and the new ones on the front. Think that makes sense...
That way you always have (slightly) newer tyres on the front as the front wheels (on a front-wheel drive) are doing the most work (driving, steering, braking) and you are only buying 2 tyres at a time.:woop:

I've been wearing out all my tyres out equally. The original Primacys still have nearly 4mm of tread on after 31k miles. I have swapped the spare across the back every 6 mnths & at about 15k I swapped the fronts to the back as the fronts were wearing slightly quicker. Another good reason for rotating spare regularly is that spare wheel carrier will eventually crack sidewall if tyre is not moved.
I shall replace all 5 when needed but with cheaper premium tyres than the Michelins.

Thank you all for the input. Now have to think over how/if I want to do this.
