Pete

you`d think but i prefer quite short now.

iv had people walking between the cars (regardless of hazards flashing)

car overtaking the rear car and trying to go between the two.

short is better but ya need a well clued in driver at the rear

and id prefer a rope to one of them. trucks also have significantly stronger chassis and eyes.

yes I think the clue is a clued in driver. Wouldnt want my partner too close to my rear, not just because she is a woman...but....

Know what you mean mate !!!!! and why did you bottle out of the full explanation, Hee Hee

All this is of course assuming that the Berlingo is the towing vehicle, but then again, Berlingo's never break down and never need towing anywhere.......

and regarding the comments by corkgsxr, yes, been some funny instances over the years and not just women drivers either to be fair. Makes Laurel and Hardy and the Keystone Kops seem almost like reality TV.
I suppose you will be wating for your first opportunity to use and try out your newly made towbar to drag something in with. Easy peasy with a rope around the tow-ball.

really....
I towed with the Berlingo..

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

I had a quick look at the numbers and I guess they speak for themselves. HDI for towing, have to thrash the nuts of a petrol to get it to shift, and life in the slow lane for a 1.9 Fair assessment?

Peak torque;

1.9d 92.2 lbs/ft or 125 nm @ 2500 rpm
1.6HDI (90) 158.6 lbs/ft or 215 nm @ 1750 rpm
1.6i 108.0 lbs/ft or 146 nm @ 4000 rpm
