i cant do it, there is only 2 buttons on the instrument panel but no matter how i try i do it!

I dont know if the Mk1 is the same as the Mk2 but I think you press and hold the left button for a short while, it then moves through the options i.e. hours, mins. you then use the right button to set it to what you want.
