Fuel Pump/Fuel Tank
#11
Here's the diagram for your fuel pump (1211).
It is fed from fuse 25 which is fed via the the double relay "1304".
This is fed from fuse 26/14.
Firstly check the connection from the pump to the main wiring loom as there are other posts about the connections rotting.
Make sure you can hear the double relay clicking by you listening to it while someone switches on the ignition.
If no noise then check the collision cut off switch (1203).
This is a magnetic switch which cuts off the fuel on impact etc.
This should reset by pushing the rubber tit on top of it.
If still no joy then you are going to need a meter of some kind to measure the voltages through the circuit.
Let us know what you find.

Well I finally got round to having a look at this!

Checked fuses, relays, connections etc. Had a meter on the plug under the car and everything was working well so pointed to it being the pump.

I got a pump from Euro Car Parts but not realising the actual pump was included in a 'module' in the fuel tank, I took it back thinking it was the wrong part. In between Christmas/New Year opening times I finally managed to speak to someone at Euro Car Parts, who told me the pump could be replaced separately and I had in fact had the right part in the first place! So I finally got round to doing it on New Year's Eve.

Got the ring off the tank module with a bit of wood and a lump hammer Confusedcratch: and it wasnt too tight, and lifted the module from the tank.
The tank sat in the shed while I replaced the pump within the module down in the garage. It was an easy job, just a couple of plastic clips and some clip on wire and hose connections. All in, the module was probably out of the tank for 45 mins.

Happy to say that on putting the module back in the tank, the ring screwed straight back on and no deformed tank! So my fears were unfounded, not a bad job all in all and car started first time with a bit of a splutter while she got some fuel back into her Smile

Thanks for your help Rustscrat
