Wheres that link OJ?
That price doesnt seem too cheap.
Theres probably a batch number on a genuine pack that you could possibly check with the oil companies customer service people
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

I've been buying it from Nielsencdg.co.uk. If you buy in bulk you get a discount. 4* 5 litres cost me £84.09 inc delivery, if my maths is right that equates to £21.02 per 5 litre tub of oil.

If there is FAKE knocking about, what makes you think dealers would not buy it?

Given this engine is used in a lot of different cars and manufacturers, does anyone know what oil (say) Ford recommend for this engine?

WRONG!! The oil must conform to NORM PSA PEUGEOT & CITROEN B71 2290.
ACEA 2007 C2 & A5/B5 and the cheapo Asda oil does not come close!
But hey it's your choice.....Confusedalut:

??
Weirdness all round-even the service intervals vary for different citroen models using the same engine according to my service log book.
With all the folklore that goes with the hdi ,justified or not it would be wise to only put in oil of the exact variant specified.
It is on my to do list.
