I hope you have solved the problem, BUT if it comes back make sure the pipe that goes from the Vacuum Solenoid Valve to the top of the engine is clear. I had the same problem, replaced the Vacuum Solenoid Valve, cured it, then it came back! Drove me mad, but it turned out that the pipe to the top of the engine bent round too tight where it left the Vacuum Solenoid Valve and could not breathe properly.
There are three pipes, vacuum in from the pump, vacuum out to the turbo, and the third which vents to the atmosphere at the top of the engine. If the Vacuum Solenoid Valve can't vent to the atmosphere properly it doesn't come off boost properly and you get the limp home.
