I've got rheumatoid arthritis in my feet and knees and I can cope on all but the longest of journeys (120 mile plus) or heavy traffic.

I'd look into the clutch cable needing replacing if yours is so bad ball bag.

Hi Steve, yes i intend to fit a new cable,i am used to a heavy clutch as my old mk2 cortina is like a truck, but that is not my every day drive,i did 300 miles yesterday in berlingo full of shop stock, for what it is the room in them is great.

years ago the wife had a company escort that came back from a service with a rock hard clutch.... some d**k head spanner basher had tied the clutch cable across the bulkhead with cable ties so it had a sharp right angle where it came through the bulk head.into the engine bay

My old Mk2 Berlingo had the heaviest of clutches and it was only getting worse over the past year.
I now have a dodgy left ankle and would put mush of the blame for that on the clutch.

It's only when you go drive another car, like a rental, and then get back in the Berlingo that you notice.

Now have a Mk3 with a more normal clutch pedal, but still much heavier than the Toyota I drove last month.
