Workshop Manual Berlingo mk2
#1
I have been borrowing the Haynes workshop manual for my motor (Berlingo Multispace mk2) but must admit that IMHO Haynes manuals are somewhat lacking these days.

Has anyone any experience of this http://www.rapidmanuals.co.uk/index.php?...uct_id=369

I would like to read your comments and opinions please before I commit to buy.

Also if anyone can reccomend a decent alternative to Mr Haynes' publication then I would be grateful

NO!!!! Just NO!!
There are several complaints about this company. I was stung last week. :censored:
They sent me 2 DVDs: No.1 is not recognised in any of my PCs and No.2 has a trial version of an archiving program.
The address given on the website doesn't exist as there is no Derby Road in the given post code.
The website is hosted in the 'States and AlertPay who deal with their payments are in Montreal.
The discs, however, were posted in the UK.

A couple of us bought discs earlier this year off eBay (different seller) and they turned out to be a con as well. It sounds like the same content though, which was just downloaded crap available on various Torrent sites but which basically either doesn't work or is freely available elsewhere.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

I have a 2006 Berlingo with a 1.6 HDi 92 engine. I bought the Haynes Citroen Berlingo/ Peugeot Partner 1996-2005 manual. I Knew from the dates that the 1.6 HDi would not feature in this manual but I thought there would be enough there to make it worthwhile. I have had the vehicle for 2 years now; it was two years old when I got it. As I am now retired, I haven't had a lot to do on the Berlingo yet. However, I cannot find any manual featuring the 1.6 HDi at all. I know it is now a common engine featured in lots of cars; I read somewhere that it originated from Ford. Any way, the HDi has an aluminium or stainless cover on the front of the block which seems to shield the exhaust manifold and it has become detached from its anchor on the front of the block (like broke off). I was warned about this by a joiner friend before I bought but he did say that this was the only fault he had enjoyed. Without any 1.6 HDi info, I can't even give this part a name. I think Haynes have a difficulty now that various makes of car are not as distinct as they used to be and you can get, for example, various engines fitted in various cars ( a many to many matrix).

Find the payment notification from AlertPay where you will have an account number and open a dispute procedure. AlertPay are dealing with mine at the mo'.
Forget trying to deal with Rapid Manuals as they will ignore you.

AlertPay have just emailed me to say that they are refunding the £5.99 to my credit card. So that's a result then! Big Grin
