#1
Hi, sorry if this has been discussed before but how easy is it for someone with a little knowledge to change the fuel filter on a 2005 1.6i diesel Berlingo ?

Just been quoted 120 euros ( in France) to change

Put "fuel filter" into search I think I used a post by Bingo it takes longer to remove a few parts than to change the filter, it is straight forward job

is there a bleed valve on the 1.6hdi or is it necessary to fill the filter with diesel?

I was a bit aprehensive about changing mine but it turned out to be easy. There is a tap on the top & a drain on the bottom of the filter which I assume is for draining off any water that might get trapped in the filter. All you need to do is swap the filter over then pump the priming bulb for a good 2 or 3 minutes.

It's under the plastic engine cover, hopefully this pic courtesy of http://www.djhweb.co.uk will help.
