temperature gauge
#1
Hi,

I have just bought a 2006 1.9d berlingo with 84k on the clock and I am a bit worried about the temperature gauge.
When driving normally it only sits at about 80 but when I work her a bit harder it climbs quite rapidly to 95 when the fan cuts in.
It seems to work as normal when sitting and idling, climbs to about 90 then goes over and the fan kicks in at about 95.

I have an 02 plate saab 2.2tid that sits in the middle of the gauge once warm and never moves whether I'm pulling 2 tonne up a hill or doing 40 while empty.

Is that normal behaviour for a Citroen? It is my first!!

that is normal, search this forum for temp guage and you will see that your guage is fine,i have owned many mk2 blingos and they all have the dodgy temp guage ,never really bothered me at all

I have had a quick search on the forum and no-one seems to cover exactly what mine does, thanks for your reply, I will stop worrying about it so much.

I had a 206 with that same 1.9d and I used to get very scared when the gauge went over 90 degrees because the fan didn't work!! Very scary times, moral Of the story if the fan comes on your doing well!!
