immobiliser key issues

hi managed to loose my key. i got a new one cut and done by a mobile locksmith with the correct codes. Now the major issue is the immobiliser does not recognise the correct code. Is there way to sort or bypass this? I'm stuck now and really need my car. its a 1998 1.8 multispace

You will need to get the key programmed to the car, this cannot be done away from the vehicle unless you have a working key to "clone"
You will need the transponder code, which is 4 characters long, and a Lexia machine or some other capable device to program the car to accept your new key.

thanks for that it was all done with a machine but the transponder code was wrong i.e one given by citroen didnt work.

The only way I know is to get the ECU un immobilised, some specialist equipment may extract the code from your BSI, but I do not have that equipment.

I have the same problem only for a different cause.

I swapped the engine from a 2001 1.9 D multispace to a 1999 car. All the electronics boxes and wiring harness are from the 1999 car also orig. 1.9D. Now everything is working ok except the immobiliser is triggered with the old and the new key chip.

(I cut open the keys and exchanged chips, no help.)

I'm going to call citroen tomorrow and propably tow the otherwise functional car (and all the keys and their chips) there so they can recode everything to work together. I hope they can get it done because I can't figure it out and never anticipated that changing the dw8 engine to a dw8b would cause this kind of problem.
