I have a 1.4 petrol berlingo it stalled at the lights after I left it 15-20 minutes started again.
The fan belt is screeching could this be the reason its stalling. I also noticed air intake pipe was off when I got home
It was running a bit louder than usual before it stalled

So many possibilities!
Remove the top cover off the cam belt (10mm head bolts, two places) and check the cam belt looks undamaged.
If that's all OK, I suggest your engine's coil pack be tested on a Lexia diagnostic computer.

The fan belt?
There's no fan belt on my 1.4
Screeching from the belts driving the alternator or the servo pump, though, won't cause it to not start.
(Well, in theory, a loose alternator belt could result in a flat battery, but then you wouldn't get it started again after the 15 - 20 minute stop)
I assume the starter cranked it over just fine.
There may be a faulty sensor, problems with the fuel system, or the ignition.

Hi ,
If it's occurring when hot it could be the coil/coil pack breaking down hence Addo's advice.

I once had an alternator seize, and stop the engine dead at 40mph...
On turning the key i thought it was an engine seizure until passenger suggested cutting the belt - lo and behold engine started as normal and got us home
Could explain the belt screech?
