The modern pure tech petrol engine is available in current French market Berlingo but not UK spec models. It appears the new Berlingo as linked to will be even bigger than current model which for Multispace buyers might make it too big for many private motorists. I found the size of the pre '08 Berl just perfect. Current model is bit on the big side but bigger than that & I may well look elsewhere for my next car or more likely, as mine will be 8yrs/80k miles old next yr I may well look for a replacement current model & hope for good prices. Register new car before April '17 & you still have £30 pa road tax. After that & the new regime comes in with min £140pa tax

I think some of the current models are £20 a year road tax now. So yes, get on board before it's too late and save a grand or so over a typical Berlingo-lifespan.
I'm a tightwad, so I reckon my 2014 one will last until the one after the next comes out, which should be around 2028!
Bigger is better for me, just as long as it will fit in a standard car park space and under most barriers. They can probably increase space by squeezing more into the same size box though. If I was in charge I'd stick the fuel tank under the front seats, get rid of the spare wheel and drop the floor right down, as there's a heck of a lot of wasted space under the current model's floor. You could then walk around in the back - it would be huge. Even if you had an optional spare bolted to the side inside it would still be much bigger. I suppose it depends on how much they can modify the EMP2 platform though. It was primarily designed for cars, but you'd hope someone could load up the CAD files, do a "Save As..." and twiddle it about specifically for the Berlingo, with a flat back floor.
The big dread of a new model is that they may do too good a job of making it look nice. If they can make something nice enough for the car-snobs to buy then they might decide it's worth £20k+.
I think this is the new model for next year, but its no berlingo, its in co-op with toyota.
