rear torsion bar question
#1
Hi all first question on here and its about my rear torsion bar

Im looking to lower the rear around 40mm , ive done a fair few over the years like 206s saxos etc but not a peugeot partner

Ive had quick look and its compleatly different to a 206 etc from what i can see the top torsion bar is held in with a pinch type bolt are the bottom is with a alen key and i think the off center washer?

now on the 206 to get the bars out i hit them from the side and push it through the arm but this looks different, can you hit them from any side you want or is they a different way

cheers kieron

I withdrew the bars toward the subframe, away from the arm they were splined into. Needed a shallow T-30 wrench on one side to release the cap screw and then fish out the eccentric washer. Hard to clean all the crud out of the retainer bores before reassembly, I used seal picks and WD-40 followed by red Scotchbrite, then brake cleaner. I also greased the splines with copper grease, plus the retainer caps. It seemed to help.

You may not need to remove the anti-roll bar (pinch bolt one), as this will help ensure the sides are lowered evenly.

the pinch bolt is the anti roll bar clamp, not torsion bar! get underneath and youll see three bars visible (206 etc the arb is hidden), its just like doing a 306/206 etc, with eccentric washers and torx bots in the ends Wink
