1.9D engine management light pops up now and again
#1
Question
The van drives absolutely perfect but it has the one light that pops up every now and again. Its the yellow engine management light.

It only happens once every 20-50 miles and I have noticed it do it more on hills than on flat ground. Its really bugging me now and I wondered if anyone had similiar experiances. .

Thanks.

Hi there!
What is the age of the car? Have you tried to read the ECU to see what DTC (Data Trouble Code) it's showing when the light is on?

Hi, its a 2006 with 125k on the clock.
Iv plugged in my obd scanner. Its only a bluetooth cheapy jobby and that cant find anything. Will I really have to take it into a main dealer?

The light comes on for about ten seconds and then disappears

Only if you have an excess of cash in your wallet and are of a nervous disposition

If the vehicle is running perfectly and displays no sign of malady when the light comes on then personally I'd leave it until something develops, if anything develops. Just my view of course.
