I have an 07 Multi, and am looking for some wheels onto which I can put a set of winter tyres later this year. (Planning ahead, like a good Boy Scout !)
I am confused about the numbers on the rims, and words like offset. Can someone please point me to a website where this is explained in little words please ? :'(
The reason I am confused is that I recently bought a "Citroen" 14 inch wheel off ebay, and it doesn't fit (the holes are the wrong distance apart) Doh !
t'anks !

Don't have enough time to explain now unfortunately, but try this until further info is given to you.

good bedtime reading - thanks.
I will now go and compare the numbers from the rims of the two sets of wheels, as homework!

The offset is very important on the Berlingo as there is very little clearance between the inside of the rear wheels and the bodywork.
You can use spacers and extended bolts as I have, but it's not an ideal solution.

I'm also looking for a spare set of steel wheels for my winter tyres. I think it's 4x108 but not sure of the offset. I've not got as far as checking the rims as the new van's not even on the road yet and there's me planning my winter wheels.

A little digging with Google came up with this...

Looks like there's a few Citroens and Peugeots to choose form.

I've just bought 4 brand new steel wheels on eBay, complete with 195/65/15 michellin energy fitted, and new genuine citroen wheel trims £230
I'll put winter tyres on the old rims, I've chosen kleber quadraxer winter tyres made by michellin at £60 each

I might sound like a broken record ( I've said this before in another thread), but, please check the actual offset of the wheel, don't just take for granted that because it came from a PSA car with 18 offset it will fit yours.
The alloys from my Xantia (offset 15) would not even get close on the Berlingo and the alloys I bought S/H that were on a 306 (offset 18) needed spacers and extended bolts. This was because of the different clearances on the bodywork of the different vehicles. Learn from the mistakes of others, in other words me and don't get caught out.

Just skimming this thread i saw the word spacers. If you do use spacers, make sure they are hubcentric ones to stop any wheel wobble. They are more expensive, but well worth it.

OK, so I have read up a bit....
My original wheels have no markings on the outside of the rims to indicate any size. I guess the numbers will be on the inside :brickwall:.
A set of wheels which I used last winter have the following numbers (they were bought from a scrappy off a Berlingo 2, for certain)
DOT 5 1/2 j14 CHC ET36 60457
They fit the wheel arch fine, but I think that means the offset is +36mm ???
When it cools down later today, I'll take a wheel off and find the original rim numbers.
My respect for proper mechanics goes up every time I try to DIY !
EDIT
this site says the offset is 18mm, and lists other cars with the same wheels.
http://www.wheel-fitment.com/steekmaat.p...k2=Citroen
But Citroen say the offset is 15 to 25 mm ! Given the potential issues with insurance and the hassle of buying a set of 'wrong offset' wheels which might compromise handling or (ha ha ! ) performance, does anyone have chapter and verse on the right numbers please ?
ta again.
