Our 2.0l HDi went for its MOT a couple of weeks ago; they said there was so much smoke they couldn't see across the garage. There appears to be diesel leaking into the oil but three garages including a diesel specialist can't find what's wrong with it so say it's a right off. Any ideas?
Rings???
What colour smoke? If it's misfiring it can put diesel in the oil as the unburnt fuel can get pushed past the rings as per above suggestion

If it is fitted with a DPF then incomplete Regens could put diesel in the oil.

If it was only being used for short journeys and was over fueling I would suspect it could also contaminate the oil in the same way.

The 2.0 Hdi has no DPF so no Regen
What's the mileage?
I presume a compression test was done?

Just noticed smillies not working for me ? Just imagine there's one there.
My thoughts on this one was 3 garages and a diesel specialists dont know how the hell are we going to know from a laptop!
Has it suddenly started doing this ??? Some context would be useful if you are to get any serious replies.

As previously asked what colour smoke ??? This would be a substantial clue.

Over to you ..................... ( but that doesn't mean I can solve your issues )
