All other gears are fine just no 5th any info welcome.thanks
Maybe the clip or roll pin fallen out of 5th gear mech. Drain the oil and take the end cover off (3 or 4 bolts) and have a look. It should be obvious if there is a prob.
As said above by Col, quite common for the large nuts to work loose on the ends of the gear assembly, this in term allows too much movement , & all,the teeth get stripped off the gears .
A relatively simple fix if this is the case.
