hallo, to replace the alternator berlingo 1.9D 2004 is necessary to lower the engine?
Thanks
Federico

sorry, confirm, not solved!
In a word no.

You'll need to remove the front offside wheel and the plastic splash cover to give access to the aux belt tensioner to slacken it (assuming you have the automatic tensioner).
The two bolts on the outer side are 16mm. A ratchet spanner will make it quicker to remove the top one. The inner bolts are female hexagonal, I used a hex bit with a 10mm spanner for the top one due to space limitations. The lower has plenty of room a ratchet wrench.

Replaced mine a week ago due to a noisy bearing. Got a replacement from a breakers for £30.

Good luck
thanks, but I managed to fix the problem without removing the alternator, had melted the voltage regulator of the alternator is just what I replaced.
