I have an 2006 1,6 HDI, which taken me everywhere the last 168000 kms. Last service was @ 160000 where they also changed the timing belt.

lately the transmission stick have been very "hard" to move, it works, no unwanted sounds, but it kind of feels like someone have poured something sticky into the connections.

The other problem i have with the car is that the clutch don't return all the way after you move your foot away from it. It stops a few cm early, and you can either give it alittle help with your foot, or just bump into it, it will move all the way back. The spring will then move it all the way back. It just most of the time stops.

however it works, no sounds, no problems, it just doesn't move all the way back.

Anyone have any ideas on what to check for these things?

God Jul Carl. I seem to recall a couple of posts on gearshift linkage issues, one within the last few months. Have a search. Afraid I can't help with the clutch pedal problem.
The pedal problem may be solved by bleeding the clutch hydraulics&/or freeing the shaft in the bell housing.Good luck.
I know this thread is going back a bit but I've this exact issue and was wondering how do you bleed the clutch??
My clutch pedal is the same, I put it down to free play and the return spring is not able to overcome the pedal.
