thanks for the welcome.
I definitely know my limits, got my rear shoes sorted yesterday, about 2 1/2hrs all told
including brews :-) I paid £30 for a set of 4 Motoquip shoes. Is that Ok?

Yup.That's a good brand.Did you slacken the H/brake cable before changing the shoes?It allows you to adjust the brakes closer to the drum.A slack pedal will tell you if you haven't.

I didn't but the hand brake only needed a few turns to adjust up.
when I have time I might dive back in and get some of the adjustment back.
