What is this connector for - Geoffes - 18-04-2015 Needed to replace one of the capless bulbs in the fron interior light, and noticed there is an unused connector attached to the same wire - it goes to where a vent-looking hole is at the front of the plastic part. Anyone got any ideas at what it is for ? My best guess would be interior alarm sensor (btw can the alarm be easily fitted after market from original bits?) Thanks RE: What is this connector for - Gadgetman - 18-04-2015 Got a picture of it? RE: What is this connector for - Geoffes - 18-04-2015 I'll try and get a photo tomorrow. It's a two wire connector held onto the plastic trim inside the light unit. The "vent-looking hole" looks about the size of a 2p coin and is just before the interior light (if looking at it from the drivers seat) RE: What is this connector for - Geoffes - 21-04-2015 (18-04-2015, 11:00 PM)Geoffes Wrote: I'll try and get a photo tomorrow. Just behind the center light cluster [attachment=2216] There is this connector [attachment=2215] Thinking about it now - could it be for a microphone for the optional car kit (not installed unfortunately) RE: What is this connector for - Geoffes - 21-04-2015 (21-04-2015, 02:14 PM)doofer Wrote: It does look like an alarm sensor. Or maybe a temperature sensor for the optional climate control. I got some LEDs from the A store (10 PCS Super White Wedge T10 20-SMD LED Light bulbs) - but they are too long to fit the plastic lens over properly. Plus when the car dims the lights down when you start the ignition etc - they glow dimly and don't turn off properly. I also need to do something about the lighting in the rear - talk about poor, that one lowly 501 bulb. RE: What is this connector for - Trevor - 21-04-2015 It is a microphone for (well on mine) a Bluetooth phone RE: What is this connector for - Alancashirelad - 22-04-2015 Can confirm with Trevor it's for the Hands free Microphone. The other end of the cable should be behind the front pillar lower trim Drivers side. Can't confirm that at the moment. |
