Free - moveable bulkhead for B9 - badlydressed - 01-06-2015

Hi All,

I tried to sell this on ebay, but there was no interest, so here it is for free if someone can come and get it from Nottingham.

This is from an ex- Forestry Commission 2009 Berlingo. I think the Forestry Commission must have had these specially made. It can be easily switched between 2 positions - right behind the driver, or just behind the side door opening. It can also of course be taken out. No tools are needed to do this - it has pins protruding from the bottom that sit in holes in the lower retaining strips, and spring loaded bolts that stick out the sides into the upper retaining strips. These strips screw with 4 screws each into the sides of the van and the floor. Small holes will need drilling.

I guess it is meant for safety of load carrying rather than security. You might be able to put a padlock round the top bar to make it impossible to open the bolts, but I haven't tried.

It is very sold and well made. A little scruffy from use but perfect working order.
Please tell me if these photos work, I've never done this before Exclamation

I was trying to work out why anyone would need a sliding bulkhead in a van. I guess it must be slid back when you want to carry a couple of dogs in the back, and protect them from sliding chainsaws etc. during an emergency stop! As a (two) L2 owner myself, I can't say that I'm very impressed with the crappy ply lining that the Forestry Commission had put in lol! I ply lined just the upper half of my van, and shaped each panel so that it fit neatly inside the internal recesses of the sides and doors, so that, as much of the internal volume of the van was preserved. I covered the back side of each ply panel with rubber sound deadening material, and secured them in position with plastic mounting/joining blocks, after I had stuck bitumen sound deadening pads to the metal behind each ply panel, and to the metal roof panels. Belt and braces, I know, but I like to try to make my van as quiet as a limousine to drive lol!

Yes you're right about them wasting a lot of space. I have taken this ply out now. It is thick solid stuff though, and has done a good job of protecting the van.

I am insulating with ecotherm on the roof, thermawrap on the sides, then trimming fabric, and I will have a few strategic pieces of lighter ply over the more vulnerable panels.
